OK. i am back. sorry for having had the homepage off for so long.
there are a bunch of news. new records and lots of shows. please check fettkakao records on myspace for that matter, i do, however, try to mention everything that is going on - on this page too.

next week will be the official brooke's bedroom - last days of happiness release show.
from then on there's a fettkakao show or event on a daily basis in and around vienna. also. Räuberhöhle is comming to austria, presenting her new (not available yet) record. check out the dates on her myspace page too.

we - that is matthias and me - are already kind of feverish, concerning his new LP that will be available inaround two weeks. only vinyl and a little amount will be pressed. click on the record cover 2 frames from here to get an idea.

the kakao party takes place this friday.. news update: seven sioux cancelled, since the bass box fell on player peter after their show in linz. he had some surgery on his leg. that's why he can't play the fest.

other than that: the jury is prepared to judge, the bakerettes and bakors to bake. this will be rad.

2 important news:
1st: i am happy to announce our new labelmember on fettkakao: brooke's bedroom. the project around creative pop head martin pieper brings us the nicest tunes... and wonderful live show(s). please check out his myspace site to get an idea of brooke's bedroom.
2nd: this, my very own label is celebrating it's 3rd year existance at the arena in vienna. and even though there wasn't much happening release wise in the last year, everything will pop up to where it started: a fest with friends and sweets. the festkakao takes place at the wonderfull arena wien on september 12th, on 2 stages:
the dreiraum-stage, known for it's nice hardcore, punk and independent shows, and on the stage on the open air stage.
the event starts at 04:00 PM (16:00 CET), where 10 bands from my roster and friends of this label will play. there will even be a vegan cake bakery contest, with stuff to win. yes yes. bands so far confirmed:
A Thousand Fuegos, Spoenk, Vortex Rex, 8 Hours Manatee, Seven Sioux, Brooke’s Bedroom, Ilsebill, Paper Bird (seayou), Go Die Big City! (seayou), Jeremy Jay (K records).

now i'm back on the updates until the new homepage is in the run, which will be in spring 2008.
as for the news: a thousand fuegos was at the session 2 at FM4 two weeks ago. those dudettes and dudes recorded the live show we did and even flmed it. here's where you can watch videos and pictures, and download some songs.
also some touring happened in the past months: Seven Sioux went to england, LDK to poland, VRex is wandeing around always anywhere.

the summer is made for swimming, rather than for shows, or vinyl records (as they melt in your car).
nonetheless. on july 29th a thousand fuegos will open for the fickie soundtrackers animal collective at the arena in vienna. and. we will have the LP released this summer finally, and. matthias is screenprintig odd posters, you can order from him (now), or me - in about 2 weeks. check that out -->

what is this exhibition all about i was blurping the last couple of weeks?
it is something done by friends of mine and me, and we are presenting our subjective perspective of what we have done, been involved with and what we loved doing... from the mid ninetees to this very day. it tells you why and how there was a DIY / Hardcore Punk scene, which, by any means is not dead today.
we will hang up pictures on some walls, of shows we did or watched, of bands that helped forming a scene, there will be flyers of shows, record covers, shirts we printed, all things we designed.. live bands and food.
the whole exhibition lasts 4 days and i would love to see some faces putting food into their mouths while watching a video or having headphones on their heads listening to some crappy demos.

fettkakao was in a busy mood last month, the last weeks. having had shows with bands here and there, releases comming out, interviews and whatnot.
now i am looking forward to meet tanja again. who was more busy than me in barcelona with her two friends, where she recorded a whole new album, that is not out on any label officially yet, but will be presented on her mini tour through italy and austria.

for you folks who live in vienna: a thousand fuegos will peform a live set together with go die big city! at the stilladen in vienna. this will be a minimal set only performed by matthias and rudi, the masterminds of the two bands.
8 hours manatee will perform as well, singing along to new songs.
zoe, matthias and christian will hang up art on the walls, and there will be free drinks and a free entry. starts at 5 pm, right after your shopping trip...

i took a long and nice walk with Rainer Krispel and his son Bruno today. inspiring afternoons like this keep the fettkakao moving.
the new SEVEN SIOUX record is called we are not the scared people and is a blast. the album will be released on 4th of december.
SEVEN SIOUX are playing shows in the meantime. like the ones next week. check out the dates.

talking of new releases.. i am proud to anounce that SPOENK will be doing a record with fettkakao this year as well!
for those of you who haven't heard of SPOENK yet: it is the band around Lisa and Claudia.
Lisa used to live togehter with me and Tanja (later w/ Lisa Max) and played bass in HOLLY MAY and WHYMANDRAKES too. (she also did play togehter w/ Rainer Krispel in HEARTS OF MATTER and w/ Ilias and me in the BHCB). Claudia played in the salzburg based band Catcall.
started as a three piece with sushilla on drums, they had some line up changes since sushi left the band. now they moved on w/ a female drummachine and are doing really well.
the record is also about to come out in december. pew!

 get started once again on september 13th, 2006.

david krispel and me did show the 1st burn to shine movie last monday at the chelsea. SPOENK played right after and it was a really laid back evening.
we will screen pt.2 (chicago) next monday the 18th of september, where tanja will play as LONELY DRIFTER KAREN right after. here's the flyer:

other news is that theres a skateboard exhibition in vienna going on called inoperable where the Manatee and Lisa Max draw stuff on old boards. gotta see that!

now let me tell you what this will be all about.
Matthias, Lisa and Christian are three artists who happened to draw the covers for the first three fettkakao releases. there's more to the music than there is to the ear. and since the three of them do so much more with their talent, and also because they are really good friends of mine, and because i do wanted and still want to work with them in more than one way... there nededed to be s/t like a show for them.
so anyway. i have one week at the wonderfull wattestaebchen, a place very independent, a place that looks just right for our little heads filling it.
we set up live shows for for every evening. each one starting at around 7.

may 16th: A THOUSAND FUEGOS (w/ chrisitee drawing live to ATF's music)

today is d.boon's birthday. he would have become 48years old.

i take this opportunity to anounce that another great artist will swimm along in the fettkakao:
matthias peyker, a.k.a. 'pony' a.k.a. dotmaximus... will release a record this summer as A THOUSAND FUEGOS.
matthias was w/ the fettkakao when it was born, having drawn the cover for the VORTEX REX 7". he also did the cover artwork for the 1st seayou release, the GO DIE BIG CITY! 7" and for the PAPERBIRD cd, that just came out.
(both records rule so much!)
you may have noticed him holdig and playing guitar for Rudi as well.
see. he is a busy man.

other great news are that the 8 HOURS MANATEE record is finally available!
my back hurt, and i was 'stoned' from printig those 275 covers.
but now you can have your very unique copy...even choose between red or blue. oh. and the music sounds so well on that white piece of vinyl.

the SEVEN SIOUX cd 'argue again' is on it's way to the pressing plant.
this will be the very first rock record on my tiny little label, and i am psyched!

the powermess recording is almost done as well.

Lonely Drifter Karen is not touring in april but in june.
2 confirmed shows are the stadtfest in linz on the FM4 stage and the tokio hotel club show at the flex cafe in vienna. go to the artist profile to find out more. also about confirmed shows in the future.

talking about tokio hotel. the Siluh boys are the head of that new club that takes place every sunday at the flex cafe from april on.
it is an honour that ilias and me got asked to courate one night as seayou and fettkakao, and we will start with showing you A THOUSAND FUEGOS on april 6th.

and i know it is cofusing - the 'who is who' question concerning the seayou/ fettkakao family.
so now there's an interview in the last Skug issue (vol.66) to get you an impression about us.

Fettkakao proudly announces the release of another record:

Christian Tanzer’s "8 Hours Manatee".

Christian is doing fine art. He did the cover design for gschu’s 7" that came out on siluh records earlier this year, he was illustrating the poster for the first fettkakao show, he is a good skateboarder, a handsome man and a rather crazy musician. The 10" is coming out pretty soon and will feature 6 songs from his "days in favoriten" session. The man with the keyboard in his hand.

Tanja is doing a small tour after the holidays, I’ll keep you postet about that, but in the meantime us folks in Vienna can see Lonely Drifter Karen play at marea alta, while drinking some coffe and eating cookies or something. The show will take place on December 21, 2005 and starts at 8pm.

even sooner Vortex Rex is playing in Vienna - at the gallery where the ipsum exhibition takes place. This fest will be on Friday December 16, 2005. Fettkakao will be on the turntables and DJ Mess U is taking over later. Vortex Rex is featured in Yeyo magazine #16 on the 2nd love page. And if you speak german you should read the interview for st poeltens city flyer, which Richard did with ilias. Fun reading.
